First step ballet, McGregor South Africa

May 2022

May was quite a quieter month. The Senior girls practiced their Ballet techniques in class and rehearsed all their new dance routines in time for the ‘Showtime’ show in July. All the children were so excited to perform.

We celebrated Mother’s Day and Miss Mary’s birthday too. Some of the Ballet children made cards for Miss Mary.

Some of our First Step Ballet supporters brought some lovely warm winter clothes for our farm children from Weltervrede Primary school. They had some wonderful new knitted clothes at the Hospice in Robertson.

We also want to say how happy we are to have the three Sisters from Robertson who travel 40 kilometers to FSBM twice a week to take part in the Ballet classes.

Saturdays we have started our Hiking club again for the FSB children. This time, one of the girls brought a black sack with her to pick up all the rubbish that we saw on the ground. Then back home for a game of Ludo and lunch!

The Baby Ballet group is practicing so hard for the show and is so excited to be wearing a Tutu for the first time.

Weltervrede children are also hoping to perform at the show with a poem called ‘If I could catch a Rainbow’

We are really looking forward to June when we are expecting our Guest Teachers to come from Cape Town with a new Hip Hop number for the Senior girls!
