The month of August started with huge excitement and actually carried on right until the end. The first piece of news we have for you is that the first phase of the new Performing Arts Studio has started, here in McGregor Village. A dream actually becoming reality. It’s going to be life-changing for so many children. Follow us and watch the new building grow right in front of you.
The second most exciting thing happened, we are to be on a TV show called “Extraordinary People do Extraordinary Things” to be shown in September. Kwêla KykNET. It was so exciting to be in front of the camera, the children, Ballet Moms and Miss Mary had a wonderful day. Look out for it!
Two days after being film stars we were off to the Montagu Arts Festival in Montagu. It was a huge success. The children danced with all their might. They received 3 Silver, 7 Golds and 5 Double Gold Awards. Plus 3 Trophies! What an amazing achievement. Well done and Congratulations to every child that took part.
The following week we celebrated Woman’s Day. We had fun and games with the Ballet Moms joining in.
Lastly we had a fundraiser to enable the Senior girls to go to the MOVE NATIONAL DANCE COMPETITION in Cape Town. We raised funds by doing a raffle donated by the Ballet Moms and Miss Mary. It was a huge success. We raised over R10,000 in raffle tickets. We must thank Out of Africa Café, 51, The Blend and M&M. They put raffle forms in their cafés and people were kind enough to donate. The Senior girls and their Moms also got their friends and family’s to donate to their raffle forms. Well done everyone and thank you so much to all who donated!
